Renowned Star Pat Finn, Recognized For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at Age 60.

Stateside actor Pat Finn, who was seen in beloved TV shows like Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles this Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, per media reports.

"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - only friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones said in a message.

They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".

A Prolific TV Career

His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.

He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.

Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of well-known programs, like:

  • The King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House

He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.

His film credits include It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".

A Life in Improv

Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.

He was involved with a comedy group of six named "Beer Shark Mice".

"He taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.

Offering condolences, fellow actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he shared on social media.

The actor is remembered by his partner Donna, three children, and his family.
