Iranian Forces State Assault on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Regional Retaliatory Strikes.

Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched operations across the region in retaliation for a significant and continuing assault against it by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone in the area of the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any destruction is not yet known and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - reported they have intercepted missiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted locations associated with the Iranian leadership, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported wreckage landed in a residential area in the capital, causing some material damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
